Southwold Shoreline Sixtieth Surprise

Southwold Commission, Passionart.eu, watercolour [image]

Never one to shirk a challenge, I am currently working on an acrylic portrait of boxing legend Frank Bruno for a charity auction to be held at the beginning of November.

This is part of the final painting in a Southwold quadtic.

Working to commission is always nerve-wracking. Even as I type this I have looked up and noticed that the left-shoulder of Frank Bruno portrait has gained a shape it did not start with.

Thankfully acrylic is forgiving and as the layers build, corrections to shape and form are possible. The light in the mornings is perfect at the moment for working for a couple of hours. Love the rain clearing the air before 7 a.m. and then it gets all sunny by 9 a.m.

Really pleased to get reaction to the Southwold watercolour commission that I did. A quadtic – four long thing pictures in watercolour with a pencil overlay of the coastline to the left and right of the pier, and the pier itself. Prints can be made available from the UK gallery and fit into a 50 x 70 cm frame.

The picture is one that people keep going back to as they see something else in the detail. Loved doing it and glad it was liked by the birthday gal.
